Northern Division
ND Meeting Schedule
October 13 - 15, 2006
Bozeman, MT

The Northern Division fall meetings will take place this year in Bozeman with a little different format.  In the past we have tried to cram everything into one evening meeting and then one day meeting.  This year we need to do things a little different due to some red flags brought to the attention of the division from USSA.  I hope you understand and will be willing to participate.

The meetings will be held in Bozeman October 13 -15, 2006 - you do not need to attend the whole weekend - please see the schedule description below:

October 13 - 7:00 pm ACC meeting to be held at the new BSF offices.

ACC members required to attend, replacements can be sent with prior notification to Jenn.  We also invite all coaches to attend this session as this is a great educational opportunity for all coaches.  The Board of Directors is also invited, but not required to attend.  Directions to the offices are here.  The meeting agenda is here.

October 14 - 12:00 Noon Officials training (RightNow Technologies)

We would like to dedicate a good amount of time to hold officials training and get everyone re-certified or certified.  All coaches are required to have a referees license, please send your coaches if possible.  Everyone else is on a volunteer basis - but we do need to make sure that everyone who participates in a race organizing committee is certified in their position for liability insurance purposes.  For instance, if someone is out of date per the new officials guidelines the extra liability insurance provided by USSA may not cover that event if an accident were to occur.

We are asking that you pre-register by contacting Jenn by September 30, if you are interested in assisting with the officials education please contact Jenn as well.

October 14 - 6:00 pm Potluck Dinner - Social (RightNow Technologies)

As part of the weekend we would like to invite everyone to the Potluck dinner that evening.  This is a good opportunity to establish relationships between clubs, parents, athletes, and coaches.  This is also a good opportunity to meet the Board of Directors and ACC members.  Everyone is invited to attend this dinner, we have kept it to a potluck style so there is no cost to attend.  Hope to see everyone there.  It's been a long time since the division has gotten together as a whole.

October 15 - 9:00am Northern Division General Meeting (RightNow Technologies)

This is our usual general session meeting.  This is where motions will be passed and the tone for the upcoming season set.  The Board of Directors, ACC members, and a representative from each team is required to attend.  Please also note that the clubs must pay their division dues prior to this meeting in order to have a say in the vote.  This meeting should last no longer than 12:00pm.

Outside of the meeting:  I will also be making a few stops in October to hold some meet and greets in the division. The details on these sessions such as locations and times will be provided by the local program director, if you are from a visiting team and would like to attend please let me know and I will pass along the details when I get them from the individual programs.

I will be starting off October 12th in Whitefish with the Big Mountain Race Team.  October 13th potluck is an opportunity for the Bozeman athletes, parents, and representatives to meet and greet.  October 15th I will be in Red Lodge and October 16th I will be in Billings.  I will be driving up to Casper at some point in time and plan to have meet and greet/parent meetings during the season, so please do not feel left out.

I like to say thanks to all the volunteers in the organization - without them we would not have a Northern Division.  If you have any questions please send an e-mail or call.  Once again please forward this information along.

Thank you,
Jenn Stielow
